Foodie Friday
Today I am participating in Foodie Friday at Designs by Gollum. You must go over and see all of the delicious recipes from other bloggers. I am sharing a recipe that I have for homemade Thousand Island Dressing. It's much better than the bottled kind from the grocery store and only takes a few minutes to whip up. You'll have to try it. Here is the recipe:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 T. ketchup
1 T. white vinegar
2 t. sugar
2 t. sweet pickle relish
1 t. finely minced white onion
1/8 t. salt
dash of black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir to blend. Refrigerate.

Outdoor Wednesday - Tomatoes
Here is a picture of some of our tomatoes from our garden (and when I say garden, I mean 3 tomato plants out behind the house). The pictures don't do them justice, because they are really bright red and delicious! Around here, there are produce stands and farmer's market's everywhere. People grow everything and bring it to sell. This particular stand is at my Mama's neighbors house and I thought it was so cute. These are usually the hours around here in the summer time....Open Sunup till Sundown!!! and if no one is at home, there is a mason jar where you just put your money in and take what you want. This is called the honor system. Believe it or not it still works around here! I am participating in Outdoor Wednesday with Susan at A Southern Daydreamer. Please visit her for more pictures.

Outdoor Wednesday - Myrtle Beach Trip 2009
We just got back from Myrtle Beach, SC, and the weather was wonderful the whole time. That is very unusual for there, when afternoon thunderstorms almost always pop up. It wasn't extremely hot either. Here are some pictures of the family and of the beach. For more outdoor pics, please visit Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.

Outdoor Wednesday - Myrtle Beach, SC
These are some pictures from Myrtle Beach, SC. We've been going there every year since I've been born. We're leaving in a couple of days so I was just looking at some pictures from several years ago. Look at the service that you now get on the beach....anything from drinks to suntan lotion. You never have to leave your seat. How convenient!!! Also, Vanna White from Wheel of Fortune was staying at the same place we were. Travis just had to get his picture made with her. She is from Myrtle Beach and was there with some friends. 2nd Time Around
Today, Diane at A Picture Is Worth A 1,000 Words, is hosting 2nd Time Around Tuesday. This is where you take something that was used at one time and make it into something else. Today I'm showing my sewing machine bottom that was once held a sewing machine, like you didn't know that, and turned it into a table. Mama and Daddy made this for me several years ago and I still love it. I think it has been in every room in my house. It is in the kitchen right now. Who knows where it will be next week!! For more ideas, please click over and visit Diane.

Fourth of July 2009
This is something that I made up for the 4th of July. This is my side door coming in from the garage. I think this is one of the hardest areas to decorate. I change it seasonally and try to make it more appealing from the outside, because this is were most people come into my house at. Of course, sometimes, things get knocked off this table because of basketballs hitting it, carrying groceries into the house or Hubby running into it, because he acts like it has never been there before.

Outdoor Wednesday
My Mama reads my blog everyday, along with the others that I have listed. We both get so many ideas from all of you talented ladies. She had this bicycle sitting in her front yard, but it was brown. She read Carolyn's blog from Aiken House and Garden on the June 25th post and saw where she had painted her bicycle a pretty green and she decided to do the same. It turned out wonderful don't ya think? To see more outdoor pics, please visit Susan over at A Southern Daydreamer.
