Happy Sunday

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. I'm going to my friend Aileen's house this afternoon to talk decorating. She wants to re-do some rooms. That's always fun, especially when it's someone else's house. It seems that Spring does that to us...makes us want to re-do things. It's been beautiful here this weekend.....finally. It's been so cool and windy all Spring, but it's been in the 80's today. The flowers and trees are finally starting to bloom. This pink dogwood tree is what I see everyday when I back out of my garage. It's actually in my sister's yard, but I enjoy it more than she does, because of where it's located.

The Dogwood Tree

When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew

To a towering size with a lovely hue.

Its branches were strong and interwoven

And for Christ's cross its timbers were chosen

Being distressed at the use of the wood

Christ made a promise which still holds good:

"Not ever again shall the dogwood grow

To be large enough for a tree, and so

Slender and twisted it shall always be

With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.

The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown

And in the blossom's center a thorny crown.

All who see it will think of Me,

Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.

Protected and cherished this tree shall be

A reflection to all of My agony."
